9 Smart Ways to Use Google Classroom#1 Digital Warm Ups or Exit Slips There are several ways to create these depending upon preference. Check out the links below to see if any of these interest you. Google Classroom: Posting a Daily Warm-Up Warm-Ups in Google Classroom Using Google Forms in Google Classroom to Create an Exit Ticket #3 Student Feedback Ask students to post feedback about an activity, project, or lesson you assigned in classroom. You can even add your own comments. This way if you want to reuse the post for next year you can revise the assignment using the comments. #4 Collaborate With Other Teachers Invite other teachers to join your classroom as a co-teacher. This can be by grade level or subject area. #5 Utilize the "About" Section Post items in your about section that students can access all year.
#7 Communicate With Your Quiet Students Use private comments to check in with your students who may be shy and quiet. You will be surprised as to how much they will communicate with you from behind their device. #8 Reuse Posts This one is a MUST DO! Reusing posts is extremely easy and saves you loads of time. Click the "+" sign in the bottom right corner and choose reuse post. Then choose which post you would like to reuse. You can edit the post before you repost it! #9 Create a Class Photo Album
Link a class photo album to the "about" section of the class page. Take pictures often of students learning, working in groups, participating in class games, or holding up their best work. My students loved looking at their pictures and it helped create a great classroom environment. Hyperdocs, hyperdocs, hyperdocs.If you have yet to try hyperdocs in your classroom, you are missing out! Hyperdocs are interactive Google Docs that you can customize and make yourself. Think of it as a worksheet that will provide students with instruction through links, images, videos, and more. Hyperdocs also allow students to collaborate easily with peers and receive quick help and feedback from the teacher. This website, Hyperdocs.co is your one stop shop for all thing Hyperdoc! It has a Resource page with samples, templates, and some great how-to's. My favorite part of this website, Hyperdocs.co, is their Teachers Give Teachers page. You can choose to give a digital resource, or take a digital resource and edit it to fit your needs. Their database of Hyperdocs is massive!
Sugarcane.comSugarcane.com is a free to use website that allows you to create your own games and data sets for your classroom. You can use the data sets you create and turn them into over 18 different types of games. Visit their website to create an account and get started! 1. Create a data set with information you would like students to learn, practice, or review. You can insert images and symbols, as well as add more columns with additional info. 2. Create a game to study your data set. The games are categorized into groups so you can easily choose how you want students to practice. The categories are: Ordering, Typing, Categorizing, Association, Matching 3. Share the game with your students. You can share the link with your students or push the game directly to Google Classroom. 4. Play the game! Each game has a leaderboard. Let students see how fast they can move up in ranking! Sugarcane is a great tool that you can use in all parts of your lesson cycle. Don't forget to Explore on the Sugarcane home page. There are tons of teacher-created games already made!
